Here is an Obituary for a 10th Anniversary Transam that was fatally wounded on

Obituary of a 10th Anniversary TransAm

She was born a 10th Anniversary TransAm in February of 1979 as No. 2688 in Norwood, Ohio.  She first saw life in Lexington, Kentucky at the Charlie Sturgill Motor Company Pontiac dealership.

She was shipped to California sometime in the late 1980’s, but soon found herself neglected in the early 1990’s.  She was found in a storage yard (from the view of a fire engine) with three flat tires rotting away in the hot Bakersfield Summer sun.  A rescue was needed and was on the way.

She became part of the Moore Family in 1996 for a measly $800.00 in storage and license fees.  After five years of sweat, tears, a little elbow grease, and around $12,000, she was fully restored to her prominence and dominance on the road where she was meant to be.  Deemed the last true muscle car of the seventies… she was back.

She had a good life in the Moore Family. All of the Moore Girls have driven her with their lives in her hands.  Bethany loved her very much and on December 15, 2006 at 4:35 p.m. she loved Bethany back with her life.  She passed away that haunting day at the T- intersection of Brimhall and Mondavi.  She did not leave us without a fight for she took the miserable 2-ton truck with her that threatened Bethany’s life.

She will always be remembered for her beauty, her outstanding performance, her first place award at the Pismo Beach Car Show last June 2005 on Fathers Day, and many other awards she has won the last four years.  Most importantly she will be remembered for her sacrifice for Bethany.  She will forever be with the Moore Family.

Funeral services are pending to be held at the “Bit O’ Heaven Ranch” of R.T. and Tracy Martin.  Viewing of the car is available anytime at the Moore home should anyone like to pay their last respects.  In lieu of flowers, please drive safely with your seatbelts on at all times & appreciate your Pontiacs.
